KABUL: President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani addressing the closing ceremony of the fifth attorneys’ country-wide conference here in Kabul the other day said Attorneys were the real players of justice.
According to presidential press office, the ceremony which was held at presidential palace, the president thanked justice and judiciary organs that could attain people’s trust in a short period of time. Thanking Attorney General and the other attorneys, President Ghani said corruption was easy and implementation of justice difficult, asking the attorneys to turn justice easy and make corruption difficult.
“I will not interfere in justice and judicial affairs and would never allow anyone to interfere. Illegal armed individuals’ activities not acceptable. We will response threats with threat,” the president added as quoted in the presidential palace statement.
“Such opinions that anyone has more guns might have more powers should be removed.The law should be equally enforced in the country,” he president said. The president called implementation of justice as important as the sacrifices of the Afghan security forces, adding the Afghan forces were securing justice through their bloods and the attorneys through their pens. The president added that war was imposed on Afghanistan and the government’s main goal was to bring about peace and stability. “The coming year would be not a defending year for Afghan security forces, but aggressive year.”
The president thanked participants for their active role in the conference, adding their demands for increasing of the attorneys and other related issues would be discussed in the high council on rule of law.
Meanwhile Attorney General Farid Hamidi praised President’s stance for impartial justice and judiciary organs, proposing the president on ways to protect the attorneys in the country’s districts.
Meanwhile acting minister of interior assured attorneys to help them in rule of law.
